  • UpdateDate: 2022.03.24

The Service Center for New Immigrant Families of Miaoli County will hold the “2022 New Immigrants Multiple Culture and Parent-Child Communication Activity- Parent- Child Fun Farming Time" at Hoboizhuang Village Ecological Farm from 8:20 to 17:00 on Sunday March 20, 2022 (No. 264, Jixiang Road, Shangxing Village, Toufen City). We invite parents and children of new immigrant families to join the activity!

“Hobei,” in the Hakka language, refers to the remote side of the opposite river bank. The “hobei” of the Zhonggang River is the east river bank. The area used to be regarded as a remote area, and the construction and development there were relatively slow. However, compared to the rapid urban development of Tofen City, Hobei is now the only area where most Hakka farming traditions are kept.

Hobeizhuang Ecological Farm has inherited Hakka farming culture and plants crops in a friendly environment. It also integrates Hakka rice food and culture experience activities, dividing the farm into several sections - paddy fields, fruit and vegetables, chicken and duck raising, turf section, and indoor handicraft classroom. Owner Mr. Liu Ming-fang uses his childhood memory playing in the fields to design farming activities for children to experience. Take the paddy fields for example, children can actually plant rice seedlings in person while experiencing the fun of catching fish in the fields. It also teaches children to plant organic vegetables and fruit so that they can experience the simplicity of farming life.

New immigrants are invited to walk outdoors with their family members to participate in the activity, enhance their parent-child relationship, and ease some of the pressure of taking care of children. We welcome all new immigrant families to sign up for this activity! The number of participants is limited. Please call 037-277011 or 037-277017 for more information or to sign up.
