New Senior Citizen Driver License Renewal Regulations to Ensure Safer Driving Take Effect!

🔸The Ministry of Transportation and Communications implemented the New Senior Citizen Driver License Renewal Regulations on May 31, 2026🔸 Through health checks and traffic safety courses, these new measures aim to help senior citizens understand how safely they are driving so everyone can protect themselves and others on the road!

Who needs to renew their license?
✅ Holders of ordinary car or motorcycle driver licenses aged 70 and above
📌 What are the category requirements for license renewal? ✔ Pass a physical examination
✔ Attend a two-hour senior citizen driver license renewal workshop
👨⚕️ Senior citizens aged 75 and above also need to pass a cognitive function test, or provide proof that they do not have moderate to severe dementia~

📌 Pay attention to the renewal deadline!
Holders of a driver's license who are over 70 years but under 75 years of age
After renewing, the license is valid until the holder reaches the age of 75.
🔹75 years and older:
After renewing, the license is valid for three years at a time and must be renewed every three years.
