  • UpdateDate: 2023.05.22
The New Immigrant Family Service Center of Miaoli County will hold four two-hour "Support Groups - The World on-Screen –Protecting Personal Safety" sessions on May 23, 25, and 30, and invites parents and children of new immigrant families of Miaoli County to participate in the lecture. According to survey and research statistics, in Taiwan, those using smartphones accounts for 73.4% of the total population, ranking first in the world. Users owning 3C products are getting younger, and, due to the impact of the pandemic, office work and school courses are held online. As a result, the frequency and time of using 3C products have greatly increased. Living in the digital era, everyone depends on the internet for study, for work, for social interaction, and for entertainment. However, due to the rapid and widespread dissemination of online information, the ability to cultivate network literacy, judge the authenticity of online information, and identify internet fraud is key. In the "World on-Screen – Protecting Personal Safety” lecture, the lecturer will lead new resident participants to learn about the functions of mobile phones and security to prevent cyber-bullying and harassment when using the internet for communication, as well as to learn how to protect personal information and respect physical autonomy. In dangerous situations, we can also make good use of mobile phone functions to collect information to avoid stalking or incidents that are potentially life-threatening, and ensure the safety of others and ourselves. We invite new residents and their families to participate in the lecture and enhance family relationships by learning how to make good use of the tools around you to stay safe. We sincerely welcome new resident families to sign up. The number of places is limited. Please call 037-277115 or 037-277117 for more information.
