Miaoli County New Immigrant Family
Service Center will hold a “Skill Learning Course - Dessert Party” event on
Saturday, July 15, and on Sunday, July 16, 2023. We invite parents and children
of new residential families who are interested in making desserts to
participate in the course.
Many new immigrant women in
Taiwan would like to go out to work or start a business to improve their family's
financial situation as well as become financially independent, hence enhancing
their self-worth and dignity. Some of the new immigrant women choose to make
good use of their native background and cultural food to start a business, or to
participate in vocational training courses to learn a skill. However, other women
immigrants miss the opportunity to learn skills due to financial difficulties,
a lack of knowledge, and the channels to receive information.
The Service Center offers
a baking course for new immigrant women who are interested in baking. During
the course, the participants will learn the methods and skills of various
pastries under the guidance of a licensed teacher. We hope that after taking the
course, the participants can use what they have learned to run a small business
and earn some income.
The new immigrant women came to Taiwan to get
married. However, due to cultural and educational differences, it’s difficult for
them to find work in Taiwan. The Miaoli County Government has therefore planned
a series of courses for new immigrant women to communicate and learn together for
them to earn a living using their skills in Taiwan. After completing the
course, the participants can take an extended course held by the vocational
training unit to
obtain a Class C certificate, which will facilitate new immigrant women to
start businesses.
Parents
and children of new immigrant families in Miaoli County that are interested in
making desserts are welcome to participate in the course, which will not only strengthen
the parent-child relationship but also create an opportunity to interact with other
new immigrant families. We sincerely
welcome new immigrants to sign up for the course. The number of places is
limited. Please call 037-277115 or 037-277117 for registration details.
