To promote digital empowerment among new
immigrants and enhance social participation and the voices of new immigrant
women, the New Immigrant Family Service Center of the South District of Miaoli is
officially holding the "Women's Voices" cross-cultural short video training
course on May 24, 2026 (Sunday) from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Service Center
(1F, No. 553, Zichi Rd., Miaoli City). New immigrant women are cordially
invited to use their mobile phones to record their lives, share their cultures,
and showcase their own life stories and the power of diverse cultures.
In the past, new immigrant women mostly took
a more passive position when interviewed in the media and public arena, rarely
having the opportunity to share their life experiences in their own words and
from their own perspectives. To change this perception, this training course
focuses on a "zero-cost, easy to learn, and practical" method of
giving a voice to these women. Led by professional instructors, participants
will learn mobile phone photography techniques, image composition,
scriptwriting, and how to utilize free editing software so participants can
leverage material from their daily lives and become digital content creators.
Aside from teaching basic
video production skills, this course also aims to help new female immigrants
build confidence, strengthen their cultural identity, and expand their support
networks; participants can transform their entrepreneurial journeys, the food
culture of their home country, parenting experiences, and daily life in Taiwan
into authentic and moving short video content that showcase the rich and
diverse lives of new immigrant families and further promote social
understanding and cultural exchange.
In recent years, many new female
immigrants have entered the micro-entrepreneurship fields of handicrafts, food,
and home services. Although they possess high-quality products and services,
they are often constrained by insufficient marketing resources. Through this
training program, participants can not only enhance their digital media skills
but also learn how to market their brands through visual media, expand the
depth and breadth of their social engagement, and transform digital tools into a
vital force to support their independence and growth.
This "Women's Voices" training aims
to empower new female immigrants and help them transition from being merely "seen"
to "actively speaking out" so they can share their life stories in
their own way, fostering multiculturalism in the community. This program also
aims to empower new immigrants to become a vital force in the promotion of social
inclusion and a more welcoming and inclusive environment.
Spaces on this course are limited to 20
new immigrants and their families and will be filled on a first-come,
first-served basis.
