  • UpdateDate: 2025.09.11

To support new immigrants in building cultural identity and with practical life support, the Miaoli County Southern Miaoli New Immigrant Family Service Center has specially organized the event “Come Join Us for Tea! A Multicultural Guilin Oil Tea Experience.” Date & Time: Saturday, September 13, 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM. Location: No. 384, Zhongshan Road, Miaoli City (Miaoli County New Immigrant Creative Arts Association). We warmly invite new immigrant friends and their families to join us!

This event highlights the rich hometown flavors of Guilin Oil Tea and traditional Guilin snacks. We are honored to welcome two new immigrant instructors from Guilin in Guangxi—Ms. Zhang Yan-jun and Ms. Shi Tian-hua—who will guide participants step by step in how to roast tea leaves, prepare ingredients, pound tea, and brew the delicious beverage. Through this hands-on process, everyone will experience the deep cultural heritage and hospitality behind this traditional practice.

While making oil tea together, the instructors will also share personal stories of life in Taiwan and their experiences of blending cultures. More than just a culinary exchange, this is a journey of cultural understanding and identity, allowing participants to not only learn but also become vessels and ambassadors of cultural values.

Come enjoy a one-of-a-kind taste experience! We welcome new immigrants and their family members to register. Spots are limited to 20 places on a first-come, first-served basis.
