The National Immigration Agency, Ministry of the Interior, aims to leverage the strengths of new immigrant children's diverse cultures and creativity to discover cultural roots through the integration of Taiwan's local characteristics and the origin cultures of new immigrant's children and promote local revitalization. By combining public and private sector resources, the agency is organizing a five-day, four-night Multicultural Regional Revitalization Camp for children of new immigrants. The curriculum integrates elements of local revitalization and visits to local sites of multicultural significance, focusing on local revitalization and multicultural development. A presentation and competition will be held based on the course content, with three winning groups receiving gift vouchers worth NT$6,000. Through the promotion of this plan, new immigrant families are encouraged to leverage their language skills to strengthen the inheritance of mother tongues for new immigrant children. The plan also calls on all sectors of society and the business community to pay attention to the issue of nurturing new immigrant children and to promote multicultural exchange, thereby enhancing national competitiveness. High school (vocational school) students are welcome to participate. Sixty students can enroll for the event (both new immigrant and Taiwanese students are eligible; there are places for 50 new immigrant students and 10 Taiwanese students). Places are limited so don't miss out! The camp will be held from July 24 (Monday) to July 28 (Friday), lasting a total of five days and four nights at the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology (tentative location: No. 367, Beining Rd., Zhongzheng Dist., Keelung City). Registration is open from now until May 12, 2023 (Friday) (the date on the postmark shall be considered the date of registration). For more information, please contact Ms. Ou on 02-23889393 ext. 2372.
