To continue promoting international education in primary and secondary
schools, the 2025 Academic Year "International Education Grant Program –
Curriculum, International Exchange, and School Internationalization" is
accepting online applications from January 21 to March 3. Schools interested in
applying can fill out the project application form on the "Ministry of
Education's Primary and Secondary School International Education Global
Information Network" (https://www.ietw2.edu.tw/). Schools are encouraged
to apply actively.
To align with the trend of educational internationalization and cultivate
primary and secondary school students' "multiculturalism and international
understanding," as well as enhance core competencies and global
perspectives, the National Education Department has been subsidizing schools
since 2021. This support helps schools establish reciprocal mechanisms through
sister schools and promotes online teaching cooperation between senior
secondary schools and overseas institutions. Through the internet, students can
interact with their sister schools, integrating international education into
their daily lives and expanding the methods and forms of international exchange
in primary and secondary schools. In the 2024 academic year, more than 200
primary and secondary schools sent teachers and students to visit sister
schools in Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia, allowing them to experience
different customs and appreciate the beauty of foreign cultures.
The National Education Department stated that in order to encourage
schools to expand the scope of international exchanges with schools and
countries, international education will be integrated into three major aspects:
"curriculum," "international exchange," and "school
internationalization." This aims to continue promoting the popularization
of international education in primary and secondary schools, cultivating
students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for thriving in an
international environment. Ultimately, it seeks to elevate Taiwan’s primary and
secondary education to a high-quality standard that is "aligned with
international standards and connected to the global community." The 2025
academic year International Education Grant Program is open for applications
from January 21 to March 3. Schools are encouraged to apply within this period
