The National Immigration Agency has established the "New Immigrant
Empowerment and Development Information Network," which integrates
information on the welfare and rights related to the lives, employment,
education, and health of new immigrants from various government agencies. The
platform provides information in seven languages: Chinese, English, Vietnamese,
Indonesian, Thai, Cambodian, and Burmese. Additionally, a LINE official account
(ID: @ifitw) has been set up to help various sectors and new immigrants, along
with their families, stay informed with essential and diverse life information
in real-time.
In response to the expanded applicability of the New Immigrant Basic
Law, the scope now includes not only marriage-based immigrants but also
professional and skilled immigrants. Overseas Chinese and foreign students who
stay in Taiwan for employment, obtain work permits from the Ministry of Labor,
and apply to the National Immigration Agency to change their residency status,
are also considered new immigrants under the New Immigrant Basic Law, becoming
a driving force in Taiwan's social development.
To further promote the "New Immigrant Empowerment and Development
Information Network" and strengthen the awareness of Taiwan's talent
retention and recruitment policies, as well as information for overseas Chinese
and foreign students staying in Taiwan, the National Immigration Agency will
hold the "Empowering You to Embrace a New Life" event on Sunday,
March 16, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The event will take place at the
Conference Hall on the 5th floor of the Ministry of Transportation and
Communications International Conference Center (Address: 5F, No. 24, Section 1,
Hangzhou South Road, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City). The event will feature
exciting performances and fun interactive booths, and attendees will also
receive exquisite souvenirs! We warmly welcome everyone to bring their family
or friends to join us!
