  • Tittle: "A Blooming Life Begins with You": Intimate Health and Self-Care for New Immigrant Women
  • UpdateDate: 2026.09.07

New immigrant women are often confronted with challenges in Taiwan due to language barriers, cultural differences, family pressures, and unfamiliarity with the Taiwanese healthcare system. When encountering health issues such as gynecological health, breast exams, pap smears, or discomfort in intimate parts, they may delay seeking medical attention due to shyness, fear, or uncertainty about how to seek help. "Examination anxiety" and "cultural taboos" can be particularly difficult psychological barriers for new immigrant women to overcome when focusing on their health.

This course, offered by the New Immigrant Family Service Center of the Southern Miaoli District, will be conducted in a friendly setting with Dr. Yang Anli invited as a guest lecturer. Through professional medical education, interpreter assistance, visual teaching materials, anonymous Q&As, and multicultural guidance, serious and professional medical information will be transformed into easily understandable and practical self-care knowledge and skills relevant to daily life.

Family members are also invited to ensure that women's health is not just a private issue faced by women alone, but an action that fosters mutual understanding, companionship, and the protection of health within the family. 🌸
