  • Tittle: New Immigrant Talent Development Program: The 9th New Immigrant Dance Competition

  I.To encourage new immigrants and their children to leverage their linguistic and multicultural strengths, as well as to enhance the public’s understanding of their native cultures, the Ministry of Education has      organized the New Immigrant Dance Competition since 2016. The goal of this dance competition is to create a new platform for cultural and artistic expression for promoting multicultural integration and exchange.

 

  II. C ompetition details are as follows:

(1) Registration Period: From now until September 30 (Monday).

(2) Eligibility: New immigrants holding a Republic of China (Taiwan) ID card or a legal resident certificate. At least one-third of the members in each participating team must be new immigrants. For teams with only two members, at least one must be a new immigrant.

(3) Competition Dates:

Central Regional Preliminary: November 2, 2024 (Saturday).

Northern Regional Preliminary: November 16, 2024 (Saturday).

Southern Regional Preliminary: November 24, 2024 (Sunday).

National Final: December 15, 2024 (Sunday).

(4) Competition Guidelines:

1.Dance Style: The focus should be on traditional dances of the participants' native countries.

2.Originality: Entries should be original creations by the participants.

3.Group Categories: Participants will be divided into either Group A or Group B based on the number of members. Teams that have won awards in     the finals within the past three years will compete in Group A .

4.Preliminary Selection: Each region's preliminary round will select 3 to 5 teams from both Group A and Group B to advance to the national final.
