To enhance the quality of employment
services for new immigrants and strengthen cross-language communication within
the public service system, the Miaoli County Government is launching the 2026
Professional Training Program for New Immigrant Employment Service
Interpreters. Through a structured training curriculum, this program aims to
cultivate multilingual interpreting professionals who can provide more
comprehensive support to new immigrants in their job search, employment, and
adaptation to daily life.
In recent years, new immigrants have become
an integral part of Miaoli County’s multicultural community. As the population
continues to grow, demand for language support in areas such as employment
services, public administration, and social welfare has also increased. To
facilitate smoother communication between frontline service providers and new
immigrants, this program offers specialized training courses covering interpreting
skills, employment service procedures, basic concepts of employment laws and
regulations, cross-cultural communication, and workplace ethics. The program is
designed to develop interpreters with both professional competence and
service-oriented skills.
This training is expected to develop 15 to
20 multilingual new immigrant interpreters, who may go on to serve in
employment service centers, government agencies, and related public service
settings, assisting with job consultations, career development, and workplace
adaptation. The goal is to enhance the overall effectiveness and quality of
services provided to new immigrants. The program will be held over three days:
May 16 (Saturday), May 17 (Sunday), and May 23 (Saturday), from 9:00 AM to 4:00
PM each day. Courses will be delivered by professional instructors to
strengthen participants’ interpreting skills and service knowledge.
New immigrants are warmly invited to
participate—register now! Spaces are limited and will be filled on a
first-come, first-served basis. To register, please contact: Social Worker
