The New
Immigrant Family Service Center of Miaoli County is holding a three-hour gender
equality course at Pâtisserie Tommy on September 2, 2023, from 9 am to 12:30 pm.
New immigrants can learn about gender equality and perspectives on sex to enhance
awareness of rights and effective communication with their spouses, as well as strengthening
the recognition and respect between husband and wife. It can also facilitate
affective communication with family members, husbands, wives, and interaction
between parents and children.
Both gender equality education and gender
equality have a long, difficult path ahead. Although the importance of sex
education in Taiwan is becoming insreasingly recognized, many parents believe that
their children are too young to receive sex education, resulting in teenagers,
and even some adults, lacking in correct concepts. Moreover, due to shyness or
fear, some people dare not to talk about sex with their partners, leading to
confusion and misunderstandings. However, sex is a normal physiological need
that should be freely discussed.
We invite new immigrants and members of the
general public who are interested in gender equality to participate in and sign
up to the course! The number of places is limited. Please call 037-277115 or
037-277117 for registration details.
