  • UpdateDate: 2025.06.10

To strengthen new immigrants' understanding of domestic violence issues and to increase their legal knowledge and personal safety awareness, the Miaobei District Family Service Center for New Immigrants is holding a lecture entitled "Say No without Tolerance! Protecting Every Family from Domestic Violence, Establishing Boundaries in a Marriage, and Equality for All". This lecture mainly focuses on the Domestic Violence Prevention Act to equip new immigrants with a correct understanding of violent behavior while strengthening self-protection and learning how to make good use of resources to seek help on their own or on behalf of others.

The main theme of the lecture is personal safety laws and regulations, which includes identifying violent and harassing behavior, practical legal knowledge, instructions for seeking help, and guidance on available social resources. The lecture covers a lot of knowledge in an easy-to-understand way to help participants feel better prepared to protect themselves and seek help if facing a violent situation to reduce the risk of becoming a victim of domestic violence.

The lecture will be held on Saturday, June 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Miaobei District Family Service Center for New Immigrants has designed this course to make it easy to understand and to provide a friendly and inclusive atmosphere, allowing participants to obtain important information without language and cultural barriers. The center hopes to help new immigrants to learn, seek help, and respond appropriately when facing domestic violence issues to improve family safety and social inclusion.

Newcomers to Taiwan are warmly invited to join this event and register promptly! Spots are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. To register, please contact Social Worker Zheng at 037-634428.
