From Her Hands, Weaving the Colors of the World and the Path to the Future Economic Service Program Press Release

They come from different corners of the world, carrying with them unfamiliar languages and cultural differences, yet also the skills of their hands and the courage to start anew. To support immigrant women in achieving economic independence, the Miaobei District New Immigrant Family Service Center has partnered with local resources to launch the “Weaving Dreams Together Project.” This initiative offers a series of career exploration and skill-oriented courses to help them start from their interests, discover their potential, understand the workplace, and weave their own career blueprint.

The courses are guided by the spirit of “From her hands, weaving the colors of the world and the path to the future.” Through hands-on experiential learning, new immigrant participants are introduced to therapeutic and marketable skills such as aromatherapy crafts, fragrance creation, simple massage techniques, and makeup courses. Each class not only teaches a craft but also serves as a journey of inner exploration, helping them rediscover their value and abilities. With instructor guidance, practical exercises, and industry sharing, immigrant women can gain real experience in various potential careers, building confidence and foundation for further training, employment, or entrepreneurship.

The Miaobei District New Immigrant Family Service Center will hold the Weaving Dreams Together Project on July 19 and 20 (Saturday and Sunday) from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This project embodies the belief that “Every hand holds power; this is more than a skills class—it is a rediscovery of self-worth. We hope each participant can start from here and weave a future of their own.”

We warmly invite new immigrant friends to join and register enthusiastically! Spaces are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. For registration, please contact Social Worker Cheng at 037-634428.
