Following “New Southbound Policy,” the government encourages new immigrants and overseas Chinese students from Southeast Asia countries as well as Taiwanese students who are interested in Southeast Asian languages to take advantages of their own languages and cultures, joining the career as a docent or passing the Junior Level of Professional and Technical Exams, hosted by Ministry of Examination, in the categories of Tour Guide and Tour Conductor. Because some new immigrants from Southeast Asian countries have lower academic qualification without high school diploma, which prevents them from participating in “2017 Exam Training for Tour Guides Specialized in Alternative Languages,” Culture and Tourism Bureau of Miaoli County Government authorizes Miaoli Gratitude Charity Association to offer assistant tour guide and tour conductor preliminary course for new immigrants to invite more new immigrants who are interested in to have a career in tourism to join the manpower of the tourist market. The course is offered from January 6, 2018 to February 3, 2018.
